Kihon Waza – Basic Techniques of Martial Arts

Grace Martial Arts classes in Tampa are underway and we’re learning new “kihon wazas.” Kihon is Japanese for “basic” and waza means “technique.” A kihon waza is a basic or fundamental technique in Karate.

How important are kihon wazas to training in Karate? One famous martial arts master said that a student of Karate cannot understand a technique until they’ve performed it 300,000 times!

Kihon wazas are the foundation of Karate training at Grace Martial Arts. The more our students practice them correctly, the better they will be at Karate and self defense.

See you Monday at 6pm!
